Class Descriptions

If you are not sure which class is appropriate for you, please take a look at the various class options listed below.  Or contact Sue Williams if your require any  further clarification or registration details.   

SooZe Yoga offers different disciplines and levels of Hatha Yoga, ranging from modified/easy classes for beginners, to more challenge for those with previous yoga experience.  Body Blend and Beginner STOTT Pilates is now being offered for more dynamic class options. 

Class size limited to a maximum of 20 to ensure your safety and optimal benefit in a lovely tranquil setting. Teachers are available to offer individual adjustment and advice appropriate to your level of practice. 

Classes are instructed by fully qualified, professional teachers

Yoga in the Workplace

Enhance and encourage communication, trust and collaborative skills in the workplace. Team Building Yoga Workshops or In-Services can be arranged at your workplace, business, school, or training centre. Yoga Parties

A great idea for a unique experience at your next Shower, Birthday, Anniversary, Girls Night Out, or any occasion celebration!  Bring your own food/beverage OR catering can be arranged.  Have fun in a lovely, tranquil surrounding while creating a healthy connection with your treasured friends, family and loved ones. Start a new tradition to increase well-being while releasing stress and tension. Yoga instruction can be modified to suit any level of inflexibility!  

Kids are Welcome!! Children's Yoga Birthday Parties are an innovative, fun way to celebrate a special birthday boy or girl ~ recommended for ages 9 or older.

Beginner Pilates - with Wanda McFadyen

Recommended for those who are new to Pilates or for those who want wish to work at beginner level.   Participants will experience the full repertoire of essential mat exercises.  STOTT Pilates is a contemporary, anatomically-based approach to Joseph Pilates’ original exercise method which delivers optimal strength, flexibility and endurance without adding bulk.  This stress-relieving method can be performed on a mat or using dedicated STOTT PILATES equipment.   This class is progressive and will teach you the fundamentals of STOTT Pilates ~ No Drop In's Please, except with with previous STOTT Pilates experience.

Body Blend - with Lori Orchard

Body Blend is a non-purist approach to traditional forms of training and fitness, combining Pilates, Yoga and fitness conditioning.  This vigorous workout increases strength, balance and flexibility, plus addresses stamina and focus of the mind.  This class is offered in two weekly time slots.   

Chair Yoga - with Sue Williams

Chair Yoga is a gentle, fun, supported approach to a yoga practice which is specifically modified for people facing physical challenges, chronic pain or who experience limited mobility. 

Chair Yoga is suitable for people of all ages who may be recovering from illness or surgery or for those who use a wheelchair, walker or cane.  A perfect class for seniors or for those with body challenges who would enjoy a good stretch while gaining  flexibility, strength and a release of tension.  

Accessible parking is available plus elevator access to the second floor yoga studio location.

Not Just for Seniors - Everyone is Welcome!

Easy Beginner Yoga - with Sue Williams

A great place to start!  A beginner level practice, appropriate for people who are new to yoga or for those who would enjoy an easy, slow paced class.  This class is an upbeat, fun but gentle introduction to basic yoga poses along with alignment principles to ensure a safe practice.  This class will help you to gradually develop flexibility, strength and stamina while releasing tension and stress.  Suitable for all ages, levels of fitness or physical ability.  Modifications are provided to those with body challenges.   Everyone is welcome.  Appropriate for all ages, level of fitness or physical ability.  

Body Rolling - with Tangi Bell

Experience a unique practice that is relaxing while energizing, that elongates, tones, strengthens and aligns the body.  

Body Rolling is comparative to a deep tissue massage using a 7" inflatable ball that strengthens, tones and realigns the body.  It is a natural compliment to your asana practice, allowing you to increase range of motion and release tension while improve core strength, balance, bone density and promote healing.

Body Rolling is for everyone... amateur or professional athletes, hockey players, curlers, dancers, runners or couch potatoes can all benefit from Body Rolling. 

Body Rolling is an affordable and effective therapeutic massage, bringing relief to tired or sore muscles.  For dancers or sport enthusiasts, it is important to maintain flexibility and strength while participating in rigorous hours of training, workouts, demanding practice or rehearsal.  An athlete needs to be able to roll out their muscles to keep them from getting tired or injured from over-use.  Body Rolling frees the body of restrictions, eliminates stress and tension while preventing injury through creating a balanced efficient alignment.

Beginner Plus Yoga -  with Sue Williams

 

Still a  beginner level, this class is faster paced than the Easy Beginner class level.  It is a great introduction to yoga for those who are relatively fit but are new to yoga  or for those with basic yoga knowledge and skills who would like to add more challenge to their practice. Classic yoga poses along with alignment principles will be taught along with options for a deeper practice. Appropriate modification provided for those with less experience or with limited flexibility.

This class offers an invigorating stretch for tight or restricted areas of the body plus a release of tension and stress that can be carried through our yoga practice and into our daily lives.   Learn to practice within your own level of comfort and ability. 

 

Active Yoga - More Challenge - with Sue Williams or Tangi Bell

 For those who would enjoy an invigorating, challenging yoga practice to build strength, flexibility, stamina and muscle tone through aligned movement, awareness and expansion of breath.  Get pumped and have fun!

This class option is specifically designed for those with previous yoga experience who would enjoy a deeper, faster paced class.  Explore your potential, feel brighter and more powerful on all levels while challenging yourself in a deeper experience of yoga.
