NEW for JANUARY 2009 Family Yoga - with Elaine Nystrom RYT Practice Yoga with Your Child!! Parents participate with the children as a group in a family experience of yoga. There will be songs, stories, and games all incorporating the principles and postures of yoga helping to foster individual creativity, skill, communication, and mutual respect. Have fun while building strength, flexibility and overall well-being. Appropriate for all levels of fitness and physical ability. Open to parents and children ages 4 - 12. Restorative Chair Yoga - with Sue Williams RYT Accomplished almost entirely from a sitting position, Chair Yoga is a gentle approach to Hatha Yoga specifically modified for people facing physical challenges or with limited mobility. Chair Yoga is suitable for people who use wheelchairs, walkers, canes or for those who have difficulty lying on the floor or getting up and down from a lying position. Not just for seniors - Everyone is Welcome! No prior registration is required. Drop-in only $5/class
Laughter Yoga - with Elaine Nystrom RYT 80% Laughter, 20% Yoga, 100% Fun! Experience the joy of laughter, the calm of deep breathing, and learn how important laughter is to our physical and emotional health. Restorative - Easy Beginner Yoga - with Sue Williams RYT A great place to start! This class is a beginner level practice, appropriate for people not familiar with yoga or for those who would enjoy an easier, slower paced class. Everyone is welcome. Appropriate for all ages , level of fitness or physical ability.
Beginner Plus Yoga - with Elaine Nystrom RYT Offering an invitation to embody compassion toward ourselves, through our yoga practice and into our daily lives. Join Elaine for a class which focuses on exploring the flexibility and strength of the body with compassion and care. Appropriate for all ages, and levels of fitness or physical ability.
Easy Beginner Yoga - with Elaine Nystrom RYT for the Perfectly Inflexible Much the same as the Beginner Plus Yoga, but focusing more attention on peacefulness and relaxation. The perfect class to help you wind down after a busy day. Appropriate for all ages and levels of inflexibility!
Teen Yoga - with Elaine Nystrom RYT Teen Yoga is designed specifically for ages 13 to 17 to help increase physical strength, balance and flexibility while learning about body-mind connection and positive self awareness. Teens learn healthy ways to become fit in a supportive, fun environment!
Mixed Level - Beginner Plus Yoga - with Sue Williams RYT Suitable for beginners or for those with basic yoga knowledge/skills. This class provides more options for a slightly deeper practice with modification of the classical poses provided to those with less experience. Appropriate for all levels of fitness and physical ability.
Active - More Challenge - with Sue Williams RYT
For those who would enjoy an invigorating, challenging yoga practice to build strength, flexibility, stamina and muscle tone through aligned movement, awareness and expansion of breath. This class is specifically for those with previous yoga experience who would enjoy a faster pace and a deeper experience of yoga.
*Prana Yoga - with Karen Cook RYT
Candlelight Meditative Flow Intended for those with previous yoga experience, within the past year. This class is an active practice in a candle light meditative environment. In Prana Meditative Flow participants are encouraged to connect with their inner silence while practicing stillness, allowing the body to settle into the comfort of each asana. While the Flow is presented with precise instruction, there are no interruptions through the postures, which dissolve one into another with grace and natural logic, flowing organically symbolizing Prana, the natural flow of life. * due to family circumstances, Karen will take a break from teaching for the next while. Sun Salutations - with Sue Williams RYT Early Morning, Outdoor Summer Class Unwind, de-stress with a summer time, early morning, active class focusing on the classical Sun Salutation, an invigorating series of yoga postures which flow from one to the next, linked with breath. This classical series is designed to wake up and energize the entire body. Best for those with previous yoga experience. Summer Location: T.B.A. Traditionally,
Sun Salutations are practiced outdoors, at dawn in a series of 12 repetitions with
each repetition consisting of 12 distinct postures or Asanas.
Sun Salutations are a perfect microcosm of a complete Yoga practice
- including almost all the elements of a complete practice: the linking of
breath and movement, forward bending and back bending, a bit of strength work,
and a mild inversion.
